Every day I browse the Amazon Kindle Bestsellers List. Nope, I'm not looking for my novels on there just yet, but I like to gander at the authors whose words inspire and who excel at their craft.

However, the list of African-American novels and authors in the Romance category has me puzzled. I'm not seeing Beverly Jenkins work, neither Brenda Jackson nor Alexandra House. Where are Tiffany Patterson, Aliyah Cole, or any of  the other bestselling ...

"What's Past is Prologue"

Today I celebrate the date I arrived on planet earth; and while I reminisce I can't help quote William Shakespeare.

"What's past is prologue" is a quotation from his play The Tempest, and to me aptly describes all those emotions hidden inside of us, that we tightly hold on to, for what ever reasons. Some good, most not so good and detrimental to our moving forward in life.

Health Days and Sick Days

When you are in the battle with your health, some days are just not what they crank out to be. Here I was healthy and hearty at 11.05am and by 11:30 I was flat in my bed.

Chronic pain and never ending cycle of fluctuating blood sugars has baffled my doctors for quite some time. Unlike diabetics, my blood sugars drop to dangerous levels when I eat. But for an unknown reason, the levels spike when we least expect it.

Those famous words made popular by the fictional character Dr David Banner, the mild speaking medical doctor who through no fault of his own, turns into the 'Incredible Hulk' whenever he gets angry, epitomizes in many ways my personality.


I try to help as many people as I can, without asking for anything in return, because this journey of life is not about us, it is about each other.
